Lauren Patetta graduated Summa Cum Laude from American University in December 2020. She hopes pursue a career in writing, digital media or publishing, and one day, wants to write novels of her own.

Current Work

Lauren is currently working at L’Oreal as a Communications Consultant. Previously, she worked as a freelance publicist and social media editor. She has worked on publicity campaigns for debut authors Christy Alexander Hallberg and Kris O’Shee and previously interned for literary publicist Lauren Cerand. She also recently finished work as a social media editor for the Alan Cheuse International Writers Center at George Mason University.

At School

Lauren studied journalism and creative writing in her time at AU. She was an opinions columnist and assistant editor for her campus newspaper (the Eagle) and an assistant editor for her campus literary magazine (AmLit). She was the 2019 recipient of the Gridiron Scholarship and an inductee into Kappa Tau Alpha, the national collegiate honor society for journalism students. She has extensive experience with various forms of writing, along with podcasting and video editing.

In her free time

When not writing or working, Lauren can usually be found running, reading the latest fantasy novel, playing Dungeons and Dragons, or playing with her dog.
